The Acclamator II-class Assault Ship is a light frigate used by the Imperial Remnant in Eras 4–5 and by the Pentastar Alignment in Eras 1–5. It carries an armament of 4/2 Turbolasers, 12/2 Quad Turbolasers, and 4/2 Proton Torpedo Launchers.
After the stunning success of the Acclamator I-class Assault Transport, Rothana Heavy Engineering developed several different designs based on it. One of these was the Acclamator II. It was a conversion of the battlefield carrier Acclamator I into a fully fledged warship. Primarily used by the Republic during the Clone Wars, the Acclamator II also was utilized early in the Galactic Civil War by the Imperial Navy. Many fell into the hands of Warlords after the Empire's fall. When Daala and Pellaeon succeeded in uniting the Imperial Warlords, ships of this class were recommissioned to reinforce the lines of the war-torn Imperial Navy.
The Acclamator II is a good all-around light frigate. It carries a compliment of 8 squadrons, and has a fair amount of weaponry. The Torpedo Launchers are the most useful aspect of this ship. Very few non-bombers carry torpedoes, making the Acclamator II quite unique. In combat it can match any lift frigate and probably pull out ahead. If you are playing as the Pentastar Alignment, these ships will soon become an early game staple and an effective defense fleet.
The main weakness of the Acclamator II is its extreme age. Being an old design, it has a weaker hull than newer ships of the line. In short, the Acclamator is an effective but dated light frigate with a good fighter complement, ideal in a defense force or as a screening ship.
