Sovereign-class Dreadnought Ingame
The Sovereign-class Dreadnought is a Super-capital Ship available to the Imperial Remnant in Era 3. It carries an armament of 340/34 Turbolasers, 340/34 Heavy Turbolasers, 100/10 Ion Cannons, a Gravity Well Generator, and an Axial Superlaser.
History[]
The Sovereign-class Dreadnought was essentially a smaller version of the Eclipse-class design, with fewer weapons and fighters, a slower hyperdrive, and a smaller crew required to operate. Nonetheless, the Sovereign was much larger than most ships it would encounter.
Designed alongside the Eclipse as the beginning of a new generation of Super Star Destroyer, the first ship of the line (Sovereign) began construction shortly before the Emperor's death at Endor. Despite its unfinished state, the Sovereign was used by Warlord Zsinj at some point during his campaign. Only three additional ships were produced before the project's cancellation; all four were assumed destroyed around the time of Palpatine's final death.
Use Ingame[]
The Sovereign, being a Super-capital Ship, can be used similarly to the Executor in terms of deployment and strategy. It also can be defeated much the same way. The Sovereign has two main advantages, however. First, it is equipped with an axial superlaser, capable of destroying any ship in one shot. Second, it has a built-in Gravity Well Generator, meaning a separate interdictor is not needed. However, it is not as strong as the Executor, and this should be remembered at all times. Also, it has a lifetime build limit of 2, so think twice before sending one to its death.
