The Tector-class Star Destroyer is a capital ship available to the Imperial Remnant in all eras , and the Eriadu Authority in all eras. It carries an armament of 36/6 Heavy Turbolasers, 48/8 Dual Heavy Turbolasers, and 24/6 Dual Heavy Ion Cannons
History[]
The Tector was produced by Kuat Drive Yards during the Clone Wars alongside the Imperator-class. Essentially a variant of the Imperial Star Destroyer, the Tector lacked the ventral hangars of its sister-ship. Instead, it had increased armor where the hangars used to be and surrounding its main reactor. Removing the hangars allowed more power to be diverted to an increased payload of weaponry, in the form of turbolaser and ion cannon batteries.
In the years following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Tector and Imperial designs soon supplanted the more fragile Venator, leading to it being phased out of service. The Tector would serve the Empire (and later the Imperial Remnant) for decades.
Use Ingame[]
The Tector-class Star Destroyer is an offensive capital ship used by the Imperial Remnant and Eriadu Authority. The Tector excels at one thing: ship-to-ship slugfests. In a one-on-one battle, the Tector can destroy most other capital ships with its high DPS, stronger shields, and better armor. As in later eras the Remnant generally becomes weaker, the Tector is a welcome addition to the impoverished Remnant fleet.
It's primary weakness is the lack of a hangar bay, making it unable to counter any starfighter offensive. It therefore requires antifighter support (Lancers or carriers). In short, the Tector-class Star Destroyer is designed for ship-to-ship combat, nothing more.
